An article on 24 July under the headline, Time to scrap 'outdated' MoT test, ministers are told: Drivers are wasting 250m a year on 'rip-off' checks and unnecessary repairs, claims think tank included a photograph of garage named John Hastie & Son.

We are happy to make clear that the photograph was used only to illustrate businesses who may provide MOT testing and there where is Burma no suggestion that John Hastie & Son is one of the less scrupulous garages referenced in the report. We apologise if any contrary impression was given.
